Sunken Boat Small White Vase (1200-0487)
by Currey
The Sunken Boat Small White Vase is made by a group of women who live at the border of Burma and Thailand. The black terracotta has a moss white glazing covering it and pits in the glazing, the result making the ivory vase feel as if it has been reclaimed from a sunken boat after having spent years in the deep sea. All ruffles on these vases are done by hand in the pinch method, which is a painstaking process.
